uControl's Chris Pinder attends parliament for internships discussion

Chris Pinder, Founder of Accelerate Cohort 8.0's uControl attended Parliament for a discussion on supported internships with Skills Minister Jacqui Smith.

We have some brilliant news to share courtesy of Chris Pinder, founder of uControl - the creators of Britain's first all-in-one universal remote control system, who yesterday attended parliament along with Jon Sparkes OBE of Mencap to meet with Skills Minister Jacqui Smith MBE to discuss supported internships for young people with learning disabilities.

Chris and John are petitioning the government to address concerns around disability employment, with just 25% of adults with disabilities having a paid job - a stark contrast to the 86% who say they would like one.

In a post on LinkedIn, Chris called for businesses to be better supported by reducing taxes on the employment of interns and introducing a credit system similar to that used for R&D.

We'd like to congratulate Chris on what is sure to be a memorable trip to the Houses of Parliament, especially representing a worthwhile cause he feels strongly about through his position as a flexible employer.
