The time has come to introduce you to the fantastic companies that make up our BetaDen Accelerate Cohort 9.0. Next up is Ergo Figure.
Our introductory series on the businesses making up BetaDen Accelerate’s 9th Cohort continues with a focus on Ergo Figure Ltd.
Ergo Figure have developed a smart wearable device that tracks changes in ankle circumference. This can provide a useful indicator of wellness. Ankle swelling is an established marker of health deterioration in people with underlying chronic conditions, such as heart failure.
Founded in 2020 by Paul Hodge, having more than 25 years of experience selling medical devices to the NHS and represented on BetaDen Accelerate by Martin Gray, Ergo Figure’s novel technology has been developed with support from local universities, a lead cardiologist and local manufacturers. Ergo Figure has a global patent portfolio protecting their device, including two granted US patents and two granted European patents which will be validated as Unitary Patents (in addition to Spain) to cover at least 18 major EU territories, in addition to the UK.
Improving self-management of wellness in the context of chronic conditions could lead to substantial savings in the NHS through earlier intervention to prevent health deterioration, eliminating unnecessary hospitalisations and reducing pressure on NHS resources and workforce.
Through their time on Beta-Den Accelerate, Ergo Figure will refine their business plan, engage with grant funding opportunities and collaborate with Midlands-based start-ups and manufacturers to bring their device closer to market.
Please join us in warmly welcoming Ergofigure to our BetaDen Accelerate Cohort 9.0.
