It’s time to meet the companies and founders that make up our fantastic Cohort 8.0. In this spotlight, we’d like to introduce you to Sandfield Engineering.
Sandfield Engineering brings with it to BetaDen, over 60 years of experience in the development of pneumatic mechanical equipment, providing major support to the automotive industry. Based in Stourport and helmed by Carl Tebbett, Dawn Tebbett and David Cole, Sandfield are developing a new solar-powered pollution containment valve, named Toggleblok.
The Toggleblok system provides a unique-fast acting solution to the issue of stopping drainage flow for pollution containment with its ability to stop flow fully within just 10 seconds of activation. The Toggleblok is controlled through air rather than electricity, allowing for environmentally conscious use through a battery and solar panel. Boasting SMS alerts and full remote control use, the Toggleblok’s use of air also allows for installation at a significant distance from the relevant valve, thus removing the need for expensive enabling works.
Through the BetaDen programme, Sandfield will receive technical guidance on updating the control system’s technology, identify a solid plan for route to market, explore diversification into flood management and tailor a marketing strategy to increase Sandfield’s sales and the revenue produced by the Toggleblok.
