Accelerate Cohort 3.0 alumni BlockMark Technologies have issued nearly 70,000 digital certificates in 2024 through their Registry service.

We're pleased to bring you some fantastic news on the progress of BetaDen Accelerate Cohort 3.0 alumni BlockMark Technologies, who have achieved 50% growth over the course of 2024 in the number of digital certificates issued as part of their flagship SaaS platform BlockMark Registry. We congratulate Dr Adrian Burden and his team and look forward to seeing their continued progress.

Please see below for the full press release from BlockMark Technologies.

BlockMark Technologies has issued just under 70,000 digital certificates from its flagship software-as-a-service platform BlockMark Registry over the course of 2024, up from just over 45,000 during 2023 and representing more than 50% growth.

The platform enables organisations to create certification schemes and then issue digital credentials to other organisations, individuals, and even things (like energy performance certificates relating to buildings). Recipients can then manage their certificates on the same platform, sharing them with interested parties and keeping track of expiry dates. Finally, users can act as inspectors to check certification details and keep records of their due diligence.

The platform also offers smart badges, enabling certification marks to be displayed on both websites and email signatures that disappear when the certificate expires but reappear on renewal. This feature improves brand protection for certification schemes and includes an embedded link to further details about the specific certificate, the overall scheme, and the certifying body. These aspects also help to showcase credentials and encourage others to apply for accreditation.

During the year, the software-as-a-service has also rolled out a variety of new features. These include more detailed analytics about certificate and profile engagement, a bulk upload facility to issue certificates from spreadsheets, watchlists to keep track of certification changes for example in a supply chain, certification scheme grouping to allow easier upgrading and downgrading for example through bronze/silver/gold levels, and in-application notifications to monitor certificate status and watched items.

Dr Adrian Burden, CEO of BlockMark Technologies states “This has been another productive year with solid growth in service metrics and revenue. We now have about 45,000 organisations holding certificates on BlockMark Registry and over 20,000 users, with numbers increasing daily.”

The platform has continued to be used by The IASME Consortium, The Cyber Scheme, 3CT Security, and Sutcliffe & Co to issue a variety of certificates relating to cyber security, information assurance, training, and insurance, including the Government-backed, industry-supported Cyber Essentials scheme. BlockMark Technologies is now actively engaging with organisations of certification schemes in other sectors such as quality management, health & safety, professional membership, environment & sustainability, events & awards, and the charity sector to further increase the range and number of certificates issued.
