BetaDen, Worcestershire’s first ever commercial tech accelerator have launched a new ‘Tech Talk’ series designed to bring together the manufacturing footprint of the county with innovation leaders together with the aim to support technologists working in companies across the county.

This brand-new series for 2019 will home in on the key sectors that thrive within Worcestershire: Advanced Manufacturing, AgriTech and Cyber Security. The series is set to stimulate sharing of information, knowledge transfer and topical discussion with the vision to support ideas, growth and productivity within the county.

The series has been developed to offer something new in Worcestershire, content that offers less of the ‘talked at’ model but consisting more of knowledge sharing and networking with likeminded individuals working in similar environments.

About the Talks:

Kicking off the series is: Advanced Manufacturing and Production Technologies, translated to the vast majority as ‘the technology used within manufacturing to improve products and processes.’ Taking place on the 31st of January and hosted by RSM Partners in Bromsgrove, BetaDen are looking for those who work in businesses with Advanced Manufacturing processes to attend and share their knowledge and experiences with those working in a similar industry. The guest thought leader who will facilitate the session is Consultant Director: Andrew Palmer from CGI GROUP. CGI develops products and services for markets such as telecommunications, health, manufacturing, oil and gas, posts and logistics, retail and consumer services, transportation and utilities. Andrew will also be joined by RSM Partners, Sidaway Technologies and the BetaDen team.

Second in the series is: AgriTech and Machine Learning. How does the use of technology and automated processes in agriculture, horticulture and aquaculture aid with improving yield, efficiency and profitability? Taking place on the 21st of February and hosted by Pershore College, BetaDen are offering 30 FREE places to those who would like to attend and network with those working with similar technologies. The session will be facilitated by both representatives from Worcester Scientific, pioneers in Nano-sensors and Sidaway Technologies, Entrepreneurs in Machine Learning technology.

The third and final talk in the series is: Security Technologies. Ranging from; voice biometrics, cyber security and 5G capabilities, BetaDen have saved the most topical technology to last. Taking place on the 28th of March at Malvern Hills Science Park, this talk aims to bring together the best minds currently working within Cyber and 5G. With a special guest and topic leader from QinetiQ, resident entrepreneur and leader in voice biometric technology Clive Summerfield of AURAYA Systems and BetaDen’s very own Neil Cooke, this talk has the potential to deliver some very interesting content and knowledge sharing.
