Worcestershire-based BetaDen ‘Accelerate’ programme has been shortlisted as a finalist for the 'Best Tech Accelerator' award at the prestigious UK Business Tech Awards 2024, after previously winning the award in October 2022.

This recognition highlights BetaDen’s continued dedication to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of pioneering technology businesses.

Since its inception in 2018, BetaDen has stood out as a unique player in the technology accelerator landscape. Its independent status allows BetaDen to provide accessible support to tech founders. Located at the Malvern Hills Science Park, BetaDen offers a collaborative environment that fosters cross-industry innovation.

The UK Business Tech Awards are renowned for celebrating the nation’s leading technology companies, honouring outstanding achievements and the innovative application of technology across various sectors. Being shortlisted as a finalist for the second time underscores BetaDen’s impact on the tech ecosystem and reinforces its commitment to accelerating local technology development.

Donston Powell, External Affairs Director at BetaDen, said "Being named a finalist once again after winning the award in 2022 is a significant achievement for BetaDen. It highlights our growth and ongoing mission to be the leading Tech Accelerator and our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional support to tech founders.

We are proud to be recognised among the best in the nation and to continue our journey of driving innovation and economic growth in Worcestershire and beyond."

BetaDen has seen real growth since winning the ‘Best Technology Accelerator’ award in October 2022. This is supported by new partnerships and an increased demand for its services. The organisation’s network and reputation have grown significantly, leading to a Royal visit from HRH Duke of Gloucestershire in April 2024 as part of their visit for the opening of the University of Worcester’s new medical school, and a record number of applicants from all over the world for its latest cohort.

The renowned Accelerate programme, funded by the Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership and UK Shared Prosperity Fund has a portfolio of over 50 innovative businesses and will continue to support the development of a broad range of technologies with the latest cohort of eight businesses that commenced the programme in June 2024.

Furthermore, in response to the overwhelming interest, BetaDen was fortunate enough to secure further funding to launch a new Incubator programme supported by the Barclays Eagle Labs Ecosystem Partnership Programme alongside their Accelerate programme, which will support up to 60 additional early-stage high-potential businesses this financial year. The award ceremony will take place on the 19th of November 2024 at the London Hilton Bankside, where industry leaders and innovators will gather to celebrate excellence in technology.
