The potential of AI is vast, and Petr will explore some of the hopes for the future. He will also highlight some of the critical risks faced in our interactions with the digital world.

We are thrilled to collaborate on this event with the Middsumer Malvern Festival, and the Malvern Festival of Innovation. 

Dr. Petr Somol leads the research and development team at Gen Digital, where he focuses on building advanced AI solutions to protect consumers from a wide spectrum of digital threats- including viruses, malware, scams, fraud and online manipulation.

Petr will share practical insights and personal advice aimed at younger audience members on how to stay safe online and prepare for a future shaped by intelligent technologies.

Peter is the head of A.I. at CTO Office in Gen Digital (Avast, A.V.G., Avira,  Norton Antivirus), Staff Scientist at Czech Academy of Sciences and PhD Supervisor at Czech Technical University in Prague. Petr was a Research Associate at Cambridge University from 2000 to 2002 working with D.E.R.A. in Malvern on a project for the remote detection of cancer for those in inaccessible locations.

Tickets are £10 per person, free admission for under 18s and students.
